Liz Branscombe DipAVN (Surgical) RVN at Davies Veterinary Specialists has been appointed as a member of the RCVS Knowledge Board of Trustees. She brings a wealth of experience to the Board, not only in veterinary nursing but also in her role as training manager at Davies.
RCVS Knowledge is an independent charity governed by a board of 12 trustees. Its mission is to advance the quality of veterinary care for the benefit of animals, the public and society.
Liz Branscombe qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1986 and has been a member of the nursing team at Davies since the practice was founded in 1998. She is currently the Training Manager, responsible for the development of induction training programmes for new employees and the implementation of ongoing training for team members.
As one of only two Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) currently on the Board of Trustees, Liz is looking forward to representing the interests of veterinary nurses, primarily in the area of access to, and the enhancement of, evidence-based veterinary knowledge.
She said: “I am delighted to have been selected as a Trustee and am looking forward to working hard to develop and enhance learning opportunities across the profession.”
Clare Boulton, Head of Library and Knowledge Services at the RCVS continued: “It is a highly competitive application process to join our RCVS Knowledge Board of Trustees. Liz’s skills, knowledge and experience will be a tremendous asset and we are thrilled to welcome her.”
